I am 27 years old, 5' 7" and somewhere around 200lbs (give or take, I don't weigh myself much). I have been lifting on and off since high school when I learned how to bench and squat (with very poor form, actually) for football. I started taking my lifting more seriously about 2 years ago and learn how to deadlift and overhead press and eventually even started dabbling in the Olympic lifts too. I have always been pretty strong thanks to genetics and the activities I chose so getting seriously into lifting was a natural fit. My favorite muscles to work out are my shoulders, probably because they have had the most drastic change since I started lifting. My immediate goals are my first pull-up and a body weight bench press (about 80% there!). Long term I just want to continue to find ways in which to challenge myself physically while altering my physique in ways that make me proud.
My gym tends to be a pretty male dominated environment (and my training partner is also a dude), so I am pretty excited to engage in this community for women. I am in no way an expert, but I look forward to sharing my experiences. I am so excited to learn from all of you.

So glad you're here! I had no idea you played football - that's awesome! I love working shoulders too, there's really nothing like a good shoulder pump. Looks like we've got another addition to the Pull Up Chasing Crew! We'll have to set up a master resource for women who are trying to achieve their first pull-ups and some help with progression to get y'all there. Soon we'll all be flying up to the bars P.S. I got my first BW bench press a few months ago and it was just as awesome as I always thought it would be - you'll get there!
