I started lifting weights three years ago with plans to finally take control over the aesthetic of my body. I had spent my whole life feeling like my body was a cage, and not a true reflection of who I am. At the time, I had no idea that iron and powerlifting would plant the seeds to entirely transform the way I view the world and myself.
In powerlifting, I found a way to push myself physically and mentally every day to new feats of strength. In that last rep, it’s as much of a struggle to grit your teeth and push through mentally as it is to force your muscles to keep exploding and lock out. If you’re not aware, dialed in and paying attention, you’ll miss those last reps not because your muscles give, but because you haven’t yet channeled the ability to keep pushing through. I learned that to grow I had to find the willpower to just finish when I thought I had exhausted all of my resources. I just had to get it done.
I’ve been able to carry these lessons with me through to all aspects of my life, and have become a much healthier, happier individual for it. I relate to my body differently, because now I can see it for all of its amazing function and ability. The aesthetic changes that I’ve experienced have helped me feel more comfortable and confident in my body than I ever thought was available to me.
I think that every woman should have the resources available to her to learn how to claim this strength and drive for herself. The female body is capable of attaining amazing strength and size if trained consistently towards this goal. All materials provided here will focus solely on females and the lived experience of women. In this space we will teach and encourage each other to become the strongest versions of ourselves. There is solidarity in women helping women. Together, we will uncover our rightful Amazon Strength.
