Hi everyone,
New here! I've been lifting regularly with programming for a year now (Starting Strength, but now I'm trying Greyskull LP until I find something better). I've made some great gains, but I'm plateauing hard in both strength and size now. It's been difficult to find information for people like me. Whenever I want information on strength training and mass gains, it's either written for men (in a very annoying way) or it's covered in disclaimers about how I shouldn't worry because I won't get "too big" and how weight training will make me "so hot". Ugh.
I want to get big. I want to get ripped. I want large biceps and huge quads. Who cares what other people think about my body? Amazon is the best description of what I want to transform into.
I've been a little disheartened by all the information out there on how I'm always going to be weaker than men, just because of my body. Maybe talking to women who are further along the path to swolldom will give me some confidence.
Anyway, saw you guys reblogged on tumblr by fuckyeahwarriorwomen. And I thought I'd join in for some bigspiration, advice, and community.

Oh just for more information, I'm 25, I am a PhD student in a STEM field, and I live in the southern US!
I'm currently 5'4", about 120 lbs, and trying to eat like mad to gain more. Heath issues: I have panic disorder, very low blood pressure (I get lightheaded when standing up sometimes), and mild scoliosis. I used to have an eating disorder, but strength training has really helped with that.

Hi theangryphysicist, glad to have you here! I, too am in the middle of an aesthetics plateau but we'll push through! Are you planning to start a log here? Because I can't wait to read about your training!

Hi! I do plan on starting a log. Things have been a little crazy last week, but I'm starting one now. Feeling big today after doing some pull-ups.

STEM field, super awesome!! I have the utmost respect for women in STEM. What's your specialty? I'm originally from the south myself, Atlanta actually, but I haven't lived there in over 10 years.

I'm in astrophysics, focusing on high-redshift (distant) galaxy clusters. Astrophysics has a long history of having a slightly less toxic culture than the rest of STEM. My department has a kickass policy we are finally able to implement that half our incoming astro grad students and REU students have to be female. I like having angry feminists (like me) in charge of admissions. Now we just need more than two female professors *eyeroll*.
I'm actually originally from the west coast, just had to move to the south for my PhD. Much better funding here. Also, I just recently visited Atlanta, never been there before that. It was a beautiful city! Reminded me of Portland, OR a little bit.
